A dresser orphaned on the sidewalk. Love letters hidden in boxes. A stranger in the window where my ancestors once lived. A woolen coat from a departed loved one. These are things that speak to me—the vignettes around us that hold stories, regrets, and secrets.
Through a multi-media practice I explore the abandoned, the buried, and family lore. I reimagine their tales by finding the duality of loss and whimsy with gouache, graphite, the camera, and word play.
I live in Brooklyn, NY and work as a freelance print and pattern designer. Born in the East Village and raised on Long Island I graduated from Syracuse University with a BFA in art and fashion design. I split my time between creating patterns, drawing, photography and playing in my art room. I am currently taking classes at the International Center for Photography.
I illustrated and co-created the children’s books, Weird!, Dare!, Tough! and Nobody! with Erin Frankel which have been published in several languages. I have worked for many corporate clients, including Gap, Calvin Klein, Kate Spade, Timberland, Liz Claiborne, Donna Karen, Lucky, Victoria’s Secret, and Top Shop.
